Jared Hagar

owner and head coach, CF-L2

Jared grew up in Anchor and Bolingbrook, Illinois, a part time city boy, part time country boy.  He began lifting weights at the age of 14 and instantly fell in love with exercising.  He played middle linebacker and threw in track at Elmhurst College, graduating with his BS in Kinesiology and a minor in Health in 2006.  He currently teaches health and weights and coaches track at Carson High School.

Upon moving to Nevada in 2012, Jared found himself getting bored at the local globo gym without his former bench press and bicep curl buddies.  A fellow teacher convinced him to try CrossFit and he immediately found a connection with the people at RAD.  Now, as owner of CrossFit RAD, Jared hopes to give others a great place to work out in an atmosphere that welcomes everyone.

Alan Matthews

coach, CF-L1

Alan was born and raised in Reno, NV.  He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelors in Secondary Education and from Western Governors University with a Masters in Educational Technology.  He currently teaches math at Carson High School.  After being unhappy with his physical appearance and fitness level for many years, Alan decided to make a life change by eating healthy and working out 4-5 times a week.  After about a year of dealing with poorly operated globo gyms, Alan decided to give CrossFit a try.  In August of 2019, Alan took a class at CrossFit RAD and has never left.  He immediately fell in love with the sport of CrossFit, the gym, the people, and the atmosphere.  In 2021, he received his CF-L1 to start coaching and share his enthusiasm for CrossFit with other people.  As a coach, he hopes to help other people achieve their goals and support them in any way possible along the way.
